New Dates and New Locations for 2019
Luncheon – Hyatt Ballroom (May 10) DRAFT Night – The Palace (May 10) Tournament at Flames Community Arenas (May 11 & 12)
The Gordie Howe C.A.R.E.S Pro-Am tournament gives lifelong hockey fans a chance to connect with their favourite NHL Alumni stars. It’s a fun weekend that creates lasting memories and helps change lives.
All proceeds from the Pro-Am are dedicated to research and awareness of Alzheimer’s, dementia and dementia related behaviours.
On Sunday, May 12th the Gordie Howe CARES Pro-Am family will celebrate Mother’s Day. This seems entirely fitting because, really, where would any Canadian hockey player be without their mom?
One of our favourite hockey moms is none other than Colleen Howe, a.k.a. Mrs. Hockey. More than just a mom, Colleen was a respected sports agent who founded Power Play International and Power Play Publications to manage the business interests of her husband, Hall of Fame hockey player Gordie Howe, as well as those of their sons Marty and Mark. She was married to Gordie for 55 years and together they raised 4 children.
In honour of Mrs. Hockey and in celebrating the moms in our lives all mothers in attendance will receive morning coffee and pastries, carnations and an opportunity to enter a draw to win a microderm facial (value $200) from our friends at Frida Beauty Bar. It is truly the least we can do.
We invite you to upload a photo of the Mother in your Life to help us honour them during our Pro-Am Tournament in support of Alzheimer’s.
